Bregenz and low emission zones ?

Hello. I’ve planned a trip by car from the uk in a hybrid Prius. I have a critair sticker for France and a green 4 sticker for Germany which is mainly where we’ll be driving. However we are staying for 3 nights on Lake Constance/bodensee and might go into Bregenz, Austria.
The research I’ve done suggests I need an Austrian lez sticker if entering Bregenz on the motorway, which we won’t be ! So do I understand it correctly that coming around the lake on non motorway roads will avoid any potential fines ? All seems a bit silly to me but I’m just trying to avoid any problems ….
any helpful knowledge/experiences greatly appreciated !

we (also from UK) don't need motorway stickers for driving on non-motorway roads in that area, but it is easy to slip onto the motorway

It appears you don't need one, based on the model of the car.

We have a 2025 Camry Hybrid registered in Poland and we only have the German sticker, but driven the car in Poland, Czechia, Austria and Sweden.
Don't know if not being in the EU changes things.

In your case, I would get one, cheap insurance.

You aren't driving an N class truck/lorry/commercial vehicle so you don't need one.
If you are not going on a motorway in Austria you don't need a toll vignet either, but if there is the slightest chance you will be get one.

If you come from Lindau, you cannot enter Bregenz on the motorway because the latter doesn't go through Bregenz, but circumnavigates the city throug the Pfaendertunnel.
