I buy bottled water for the the first 3 days of any trip overseas - then, where the water is known to be safe, as in Europe or Argentina, I switch to tap water...except for the occasional Badoit to complement a diner.

Cornelius, did you wash those fresh fruits and vegetables in tap water or bottled water?

Do those people who think that local tap water will upset their bodies also avoid ice? Ice is usually made from tap water, rather than water from a spring.

>>>We don't like to drink tap water when we travel to Europe as it upsets our systems....okay for residents as their systems are familiar with the different bacterias.<<<

I think you are talking about Mexico, not Europe. While some water in Europe might have a slightly different mineral content than water in the US, it's not full of bacteria that would cause stomach upset. It's as pure as US water.

What I find odd is that the bottled water is also from a foreign country, so theoretically it should upset visitors as well. I do know that Paris tap water has a lower bacteria count than Evian according to studies.

We don't drink tap water in US either if it is from a public water system as it has all kinds of chemical things added to it plus all the chlorine....even smells like bleach in some places.we drink our own of course as we are lucky to have our own well. The water in our apartment in Paris smell of chlorine too.
We were fine with drinking bottled water in France and bought mostly Volvic as that is what we drink here only the price in Paris was half of what we pay.
