Italy is also reintroducing border controls, for the G7 summit in Taoromina, which is May 26-27. However, the border controls are starting considerably earlier, I think tomorrow.

Italy's border controls are only for people coming in from Austria and Slovenia.

Portugal is doing the border controls for the Pope's visit, probably to keep Trump at bay. You never know what going to come out of his mouth.

There is a narrow vehicular bridge from Galicia to Portugal, that should be a mess.

Have they fixed the rail lines from that horrible crash in September just south of Vigo?

The trains are working as far as I know, they did do after about 2 or 3 days.

Italy should have been operating border controls into Taormina for years.

Primarily, to keep the cruise ship hoards out.

Nasty place.
