St cirq and Carlux, we're looking into going to the Dordogne next April (20th or so for maybe 5 days in the area). What's the weather like there at that time? I get the impression it's high 50s and low 60s.
We will have a car, but have had some issues on prior rentals with driving at night. One place had five foot deep drainage ditches and no turn outs on each side of a one lane windy road....another was on the top of a hill in Valuris (we had an unfamiliar stick shift).
Wthi that in mind, would you recommend Sarlat as a good base?
Thank you for your advice.

we rented a car in libourne and drove to Cenac.Rented a small house. It was about a km. south of Cenac. Had Three houses/apts. you could rent, and also a B&B. great location. could do walks in countryside but also easy to get to the sights in Dordogne. I think it was called La Gueriniere or something like that.
