Hi
my experience over 20+ years of travelling in France is that you don't need to book bfor odd overnight stays. And now I'm a resident I haven't changed my view.
You'll always find something ........... and when you've almost given up, whatever you find will be better than expected.
So :
1) Start looking at 16.30
2)Be flexible
3) If you really must be on the beach with AC, then book ahead
