Bolzano - likely weather in early-mid October??
I've searched a bit, but didn't see anything. If I missed a previous post about this subject, please excuse my asking again. I'm planning to spend 2 nights in Bolzano in October; what kind of weather is normal at that time of year? I'm assuming shoes-and-socks (as opposed to sandals) and jacket-with-fleece-layer-underneath will be adequate mornings and evenings, with it being warmer during the middle of the day. Is that about right?

Hi travlsolo2,
While no one can predict the future, we were in the Dolomites... Val Gardena, Val Venosta and Alta Badia, three times (all in mid to late Oct.) on recent trips. We had very nice weather each trip. From the 40's at night to mid 60's to low 70's during the day. We did have a day or two in Oct. '06 that was in the low 80's.
Hope this helps.

We have been in the mountains near Bolzano in mid October 10 of the last 15 years and on the whole the weather has been lovely with many sunny days. But some years have been cold and windy (40s, and colder at night) and some years in the 60s during the day. We've also had spells of rain, low clouds, and one year there was a day of snow. So you really need to have a variety of layers, plus rain gear.
