Bologna day trip - Possible to do Faenza and Ravenna?
I want to visit the Ceramics Museum as well as the Vignoli Sister's studio in Faenza and was wondering if it is possible to do both this and see the mosaics in Ravenna in one day from Bologna via train. The museum opens at 9:30 and stays open to 5:30 or 7:00 depending upon the time of year. Would this be doable? Thanks!

You can totally do this.
I am also an avid admirer of those mosaics, have been a number of times over the years, they are just too special.
It takes maybe 15-20 minutes from the train station to walk to one of the mosaics locations, then there are the others, all walkable. It’s a nice no-big-deal town completely on the flat, good for walking around. The only mosaics location that is outside of town is the one “in Classe” - which is the name of that location. There is a bus. If you can’t make it there, check out at least the other three in town.

Street maps are at google maps, of course.
Take the 7:58 train from Bologna Centrale to Ravenna, arrives 9:13, you’ll be at the first location right when they open up at 9:30.
At 14:50 there is a bus leaving that gets to Faenza (via Godo and Russi) at 15:36 - gives you a good hour there before they close at 5PM.
In summer, with the later closing time, you have more leeway, like the local train from Ravenna at 15:46 that gets to Faenza at 16:18 - no reservations, 2nd class only, just buy the ticket, validate it (by sticking it into the yellow box near the platform access) and hop on.
Then it‘s a short ride back to Bologna. What a day!
