Boat Ride on Brenta River from Venice

Has anyone taken the day-long boat ride on the Benta River from Venice to Padua?

Well I'm no help but it sounds interesting. Where did you hear about this boat trip? Thanks! SueC1

Try to find a copy of "Venice for Pleasure" by J G Links. He covers this trip in good detail.

It is still in print and you should find it on amazon.

I read about this all-day trip from Venice in several guide books but found the website in lonely planet: www.ilburchiello.it.

My husband and I took this trip from Venice to Padua (you can also do the reverse) on the Brenta Canal last year and loved it. We went on a beautiful day in April so it was not too hot, but comfortable. You get a different perspective on the Palladian Mansions as they were built along this canal as summer or vacation homes. The package includes a lovely lunch that you just step off the boat, walk across a ramp and into a restaurant to enjoy. The boat hold only a relatively small group and has an excellent guide. The last mansion is amazing, huge, with beautiful grounds and charming outbuildings. Napoleon actually bought it for his own use! When we went it was about $100/person, a splurge, but worth it, we thought.

As far as I know there is only one company who runs this trip. I went to Google, put in Brenta Canal Trip and made my reservations through them. At the moment, I cannot put my hands on the papers I need, but if I find them, I will repost what you need. Sorry to be so vague, I WILL look.
