Blausee Hote..anyone stay there? Arolla? My Engadine/else iten
We didn't get enough Switzerland last year, so we're planning on a return in June with Swiss Pass in hand. (I know, spare the sarcasm, LOL!) Anyway, we're backpacking it. Starting in Scuol day 1) hiking to Guarda, Ardez.2) Train to Zernez, hiking forest. 3)Train/bus to Casaccia, hike to Soglio, stay at La Soglina 4) Hike around Soglio 5)Train, hike Muottas Muragl to Pontresina, carriage to Hotel Fex. 6) Hike to Hotel Rosegletcher 7) Bus/Train to hmm Les Hauderes? Arolla? Help! Will be around this area for 3 nights to hike. Day 10) Train to Sion for wine tasting, no hiking, lol. Train to Blausee till day 12, leave for Zurich, head home. I thought a quiet lake resort for the last 2 days would be fun; this place looks divine! Any opinions? I am open to ALL suggestions. Last year , we did the B Oberland (loved it) Montreux/Lac Leman and Lugano/Ticino.

Can I go with you? LOL!
I would make some changes for the Engadine:
Where exactly do you plan to hike on day 2 (Zernez, hiking forest)? The National Park? A waste! The area around Zernez is IMO the least spectacular of the Engadine.
Days 5 and 6 are confusing. There are dozens of options to hike from Muottas Muragl to Pontresina - from short to loooong. And how does Hotel Fex fit in this day? It is in the Fex valley, near Sils. Or did you mean to take the carriage to Hotel Roseggletscher? That would make sense.
To go to the Valais means a looong train ride - Glacier Express - but it is doable. A friend of mine hiked around Arolla this year and loved it. You must know it is really off the beaten path ... and better for mountaineering than hiking. Another option would be Grimentz in the Val d'Anniviers, with a good selection of simple hotels/b&bs.
I have not been to Lake Blausee yet. It must be very nice, though, from what I have heard. The lake is very small ... so if you want the real lake experience, go to Lake Thun.

PS: you might consider to spend the "Zernez" day on the Bernina Express train (with some hiking/walking of course!). Take the local/regional trains, which are free with Swiss Pass. The Express trains cost a small additional fee.
The area around the Bernina Pass is so spectacular, not to miss when you're in the area. And Poschiavo plus its lake are just perfect.

Oh, Ingo, I love you! yes, please come with us! Okay, I was reading off my notes today and may not have everything in exact order. Thanks for the words about the National forest; seems like we can skip that. yep,I have read about Posch and will look into that. About Arolla, it's high, we know. Also looking at the valley towns. We are in very good shape and have tackled many mountains- just don't want to do scaling. I may spend two days more in Enga/Grab an fewer in Valais. But I want to spend the last 2 days in a place not far from Zurich in an isolated, quiet place. Don't need a big lake, we just want a view and stars. Peace.

Engadin is wonderful! Scuol has a nice spa in the middle of the town. It costs SFr. 28.-- but it has an inside/outside heated pool, whirlpools, etc. If it rains, this might be a nice alternative.
Did you know they speak Romansch in the area? It's Switzerland's fourth official language. Romansch is derived from latin and is close to Italian.
Enjoy Engadin!
