Black Forest hotel suggestions???

We want to spend two nights in the Black Forest area and are travelling by train. We aren't sure of what town to stay in or a nice, reasonably priced hotel. Any suggestions??Thanks.

The Black Forest town to stay in is Gengenbach, a true medieval town. (The state government has forbidden any "modernization". Absolutely charming with a number of equally charming hotels. You might want to take a look at <BR><BR>www.badenpage.de/gengenbach/<BR><BR>to take the walking tour of the village and <BR><BR>www.badenpage.de/gengenbach/roessle/index.html<BR><BR>to view typical accommodations.

Kathy, I have booked one night in Gengenbach at the Pfeffermuhle Stadt Hotel. It's a stop over on the way on to Switzerland. Rate is ?62 for double. Confirmation is all in German. Bavarian Ben says English is not widely spoken in the area!

I stayed in Gengenbach thanks to Wes' suggestion. I highly recommend a dinner at the Hotel Benz. It's a few minutes outside the town, but well worth the effort. Reasonably priced.<BR><BR>You can see my webpage about Gengenbach at http://www.travelswithdiane.homestead.com/trip2001pg9.html<BR>
