Black Forest & Romania....please help with info....

Hello...me again! lol.

Still struggling with where to go & what to see, so many places, so many suggestions etc.

So, Vienna, Salzburg & Hautmausen are for sure now.

Where exactly is the Black Forest, what can be seen & done there, & how long would be advisable for staying?

Also, thinking of going to Sighisoara, Transylvania (Romania)...is there a best way to get there from Austria?

Budapest, Prague...what would be the cheapest/fastest way to get here, & from where?

I hope this isn't too complicated lol. We have been looking at budget airlines & some trains as well, & it's just getting more & more confusing for us...first time travellers & all.

We SO appreciate any & all help from you, the Wise Ones!

Hi
Have you checked out some maps or www.michelin.com for information to check out distances? Europe is not as small as some people think it is. Checking out several guidebooks either in bookstores or libraries would help you too.

You find some basic information on the Black Forest region on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Forest
Nearest airports are Stuttgart and Basel/Mulhouse.
Freiburg is a pretty nice base for exploring the countryside.
A rental car for 2-4 days will give you more freedom to explore, though there are also many scenic railroads in Black Forest.

Dear im,

The Black Forest is in Germany, near France. Look up Baden Baden at www.viamichelin.com

May I most respectfully and with the kindest of intentions suggest that you stop flitting all over the place?

Focus on 3-4 destinations and plan them, or you will never get your itinerary together.

I agree with ira, pick a destination and stick with it.
First, decide what you are interested in doing. You are asking for advice on where you should go based on the cheapest way? The Euro hit an all time high last week, so cheap may be off the table.

You might be struggling with the decision because you don't seem clear on what you want to do. What do you see yourself doing in Europe??

Ira, et al,

I thank you so much for your patience, kindness AND tact! lol.

Our flitting is over with indeed, & we have decided...please offer your advice on this itinerary if you would, once more??

Vienna...Oct.8-10, 2 nites
Linz/Mauthausen day trip, Oct.10
Salzburg...Oct.10-14, 4 nites
Munich...Oct.14-18, 4 nites
Klagenfurt...Oct.18-22, 4 nites
Vienna...Oct.22-27, 5 nites

With travel time, is this doable?
