Biking in Tuscany
Has anyone been on a bike tour through Tuscany? I would like to hear about your experience and what you might have done differently as well as which compnay you went with for your tour. I will be going the first week of May 05.

My fiance and I are plannin to cycle through Umbria for our honeymoon in May 2005. Tuscany was a bit hilly for us and I don't ride every day so we opted for the slightly less challenging Umbria.
Here are a few of the organizations that we've researched:
Bike Riders
Headwater
Randonee
Cicloposse
They all offer Tuscany itineraries, which are about 30 miles daily -- same as Umbria, only more hilly.
Hope this helps. Would love to know if you find something else. We haven't booked yet.

Checkout www.ibikeitaly.com - they offer one day cycling tours in Tuscany. My mother (who is a great sport) did one of their tours in Oct 2002 and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Alot of fun - great people, comfortable well functioning bicycles, and wonderful scenery. Our guide was a young American guy who was very knowledgable and friendly. I hightly recommend "I Bike Italy".

Don't know if this willhelp you out because of the dates. I talked with a woman who had taken 3 different tours with Cycling Safaris out of Ireland. They have been happywith the trips. As I recall they did one in Ireland, one in Italy and one in Slovenia. Prices from this company are very very reasonable compared to other companies.
