1972. Hitching a ride with my friend Ellen in the French countryside, on a truck carrying a load of pork to Biarritz. I'm sitting on the driver's seat next to the driver but between him and the gear shift. He's telling me when to shift, not that I had ever shifted anything in my life in English, much less in French. We didn't fall over any cliffs.
But I didn't go with him to Biarritz, as he suggested. And he was really cute. Ellen's coming to visit me this weekend. No regrets.

I regret not spending more time in Paris and I regret not taking more pictures.
Yikes! The duomo! I took pictures of the outsides of many places, but not the inside...sigh. I did not see the inside of the churches in Florence.
After my first trip to Paris, I thought I had seen all in paris that I wanted to see. Now there is so much more that I still want to see.
When traveling to Canada, I regret not seeing so much more....I regret not taking more stops on the drive up there. Sigh.
But, there is always tomorrow, yes?

Dining at Chez Agnes next door to our hotel in Paris in 2002. The owner would not serve all items on the menu and the next day we spotted vermin in the window! Never again.
Not running off to Europe when my husband lost his job the first year we were married and we had no mortgage, debt or responsibilities.
