Best website to book Rome to Madrid flight

Hello,

In your opinion, what are the best websites to book flights from Rome to Madrid?

skyscanner? Also easyjet? If we have 2 carry-ons, do we need to pay the 15 euro for baggage?

Thank you again!

skyscanner.net and whichbudget.com are sites that search multiple airlines (like Expedia or Kayak). Easy Jet is an airline. The budget airlines are very strict about their luggage or check-in rules. The fees will depend on which airline you select.

also check non budget airlines.. you may be surprised by an occasional competitive fare which may include one free bag.

the difference between skyscanner and whichbudget and some others is that the two former seem to concentrate on BUDGET airlines

you can also check itasoftware.com

Check Air Europa. Last year they had the cheapest rate . I ended going with Iberia because I was able to get a ticket with FF miles.

Well I wish I had FF miles!

Are there averages per tickets in June? I'm finding $255 and up. Is that good? bad?

Is it better to book now, or closer like 1 month or two weeks?

Thank you

What date are you flying? I input a couple of dates in June in Air Europa and I'm getting rates lower than that. Did you check them ?

Check Vueling Airlines at www.vueling.com. Random dates in June show me prices between 44 and 84 euros.

I'm doing one way from Rome (FCO) to Madrid (MAD) on June 20th. I haven't checked today-getting ready to! I guess I just don't understand the luggage, paying 15e per bag. The site (one of them) stated the 15e is cheaper than what will be paid at the airport if I wait??

Many of the budget airlines are charging for checking luggage, nothing new there. In the US the major airlines now also charge for luggage on domestic flights.
The difference between prepaying online for the luggage or at the airport is nominal.
Air Europa or Iberai do not charge for luggage. You should factor that in in your comparison.

Good luck.

Thank you cruiseluv-that's where I was confused-if that fee was for all airlines, or only if noted. Yes, we have fees now, with exceptions, so all the same. However, we are authorized 2 carryons, vs the 1 list on budget airlines. I'll be happy if we get flights for about $80 or so per person!

Thank you to all, for all the info!

A warning if you fly Ryanair anywhere and do not have a EU passport. You must get your boarding pass ( which you need to print out before the airport or be charged 30-40E) VALIDATED at the Ryanair ticket counter before passing security. They take a quick look at your passport and make sure you are "legal" then stamp it.

They are the only airlines to date that do this.

Also, with low-cost airlines, the difference in luggage fees online and at airport can be quite a lot.

and.. easyjet's carryon has no weight limit.. but pay attention to size.

ryanair on the other hand has a weight and VERY STRICT size limit. Wheels on carryon can keep your even tiny carry-on from dropping into the sizing bin and force an at the gate check in for an additional 40E per bag.

Just pay close attention to all the info on any airline's webpage regarding luggage anymore. You don't want surprises.
