Hi h2,

The best way is in your private jet.

See www.whichbudget.com for flights froAMS to LGW and LHR.

1- highspeed ferry Hook of Holland to Hariwch with 'boat trains' serving each end from Amsterdam and to London. Can have very cheap all-inclusive fares, probably under $100.
2- Fly
3- Via Brussels and Eurostar trains - low as $90 for Eurostar plus Amsterdam-antwerpen train ticket about $30 (Eurostar has an ABS fare that lets you go from any Belgian station to London for the same price as from Brussels - ask about this when booking. $90 fare is in US - more expensive in Europe right now i believe. RailEurope in US sells Eurostar tickets. About 5 hours via train, bit more for boat.

This is one of the most competitive air routes going. Depending on how much you might be prepared to compromise on inconvenient scheduling, you could get some real bargains, which would minimise the transit time. Unless you're really keen to see not very interesting scenery and/or sea, I would think a plane is the obvious choice: but don't forget to factor in check-in times and travel from some of the outer London airports.

Okay, we're flying. I purchased 2 tickets via Easyjet and the total cost was 60 Euro. Not bad considering the flight is into Gatwick instead of one of the smaller outlying airports.

Thanks for your advice!
