Are you writing a guide book on Italy?

Hi Mo,
I live in London....early June to early Sept is the best time - any other time it rains NON STOP! It starts to cool down considerably in mid Sept so now until then is your best time. Prices don't differ much, if at all! You might find hotel prices go up, but not so much as to stop you from coming.
Definately have to do it in Jun-Sept so that you can get out and about without having to dodge the rains.

We went in mid-march thinking it might be a gamble weather wise. However, the trip was excellent. We booked a couple of day trips around London and several of the guides told us that we had timed it perfectly. Take a light jacket and you will have a great time.
