Best Rental Car

I will be in Germany in a couple of months and am renting a car for a few days. What is the best rental company? I have used Enterprise in the USA and had no problems. Is Enterprise the same in Germany? How is Sixt? I have read reviews on Sixt that some people have had trouble with Sixt. Like being charged more for damage they didn't know about. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I think all the main car companies at Frankfurt are fine, even Sixt. There are some smaller companies that operate out of Kelsterbach which is the suburb next to the airport and I would probably avoid those. You can book any of those companies through Auto Europe which is a broker, and if you have problems with the car they will take it up with the rental company and resolve it for you. It shouldn't cost you anything more by going through them. We have used Hertz, Europcar and Sixt and all are OK, but of course when you get the car take photos everywhere around the chassis and if you see a scratch that hasn't been recorded by the rental car company then tell them straight away. That's on you, unfortunately. Good luck!!

The car rental companies may use the same name/logo all over the world but they are different companies that use that name/logo. A giant franchise system.
Sixt are a German based family business.
One should always go over the car with a fine tooth comb. when picking it up. Some companies allow you to report unlisted damage within the next 24 hrs especially if picking up the vehicle late at night.
