Best place in Scotland Highlands??

I'll be travelling to Scotland with my parents in July, and I'd appreciate any advice on the most scenic spots that are relatively easily accessible, or any other advice on Scotland you'd have. Thanks.

If you can possibly fit it in, make a trip to the Isle of Skye and the Northern coast. <BR>

Royal Deeside in the Northeast, just west of Aberdeen is an absolute must! Filled with lots of castles and beautiful pasture land, it is really quite breathtaking. Also, it could be raining all over Scotland, yet in this region it seems to stay sunnier most of the time (even the guide books mention this fact). There are lots of castle hotels to stay in as well which just enhance the experience.

The Whiskey Trail is not only beautiful, but interesting stopping at one or two distilleries for a tour and a taste of malt whiskey. I have the name of a wonderful 200 year old B&B in a nice location...if interested, feel free to e-mail me.

If you tour up the Dee River as suggested above, be sure to take a side trip to the Lin of Dee. About 8 miles past Brae Mar, this wonderful small canyon is singularly unique and beautiful. Easy access too.
