When we travel, I make xeroxes of the pages we need and leave the books home.

That's exactly what I do. I actually make 2-sided copies (saves the space and weight) of the pages from the books for the specific city/area I'm visiting. I agree with NEDSIRELAND, there's not one book that covers all of Spain. Often authors have varying opinions so I like to be able to bring a variety of reading with me.
