Ordinance survey ireland do a good one. Alternatively, if you know all the routes you're going to be taking, you could go to the AA route planner and print off the directions in advance.

You'll certainly want to have a good map since what ever your travel plans are, they will probably vary a bit when you get there. The ordinance survey map is very good but also very detailed. If you are devoting most of your truip to major roads and not taking obscure backroads, it is probably overkill. I think it requires about three pages turns to cover Co Clare.
Michelin is makes a good map. The one I use also has Great Britain in it. It's in book form instead of the huge fold out map. It also requires some pages turns but not as many. BTW, I travel with both.
