Best Area to Stay inTurin

Anyone been to Turin? Ideas on which area is best to stay? We'll likely rent an apt for 5 nights in May. thanks

Rhody and I spent 2 nights in Turin in 2005. We visited the Shroud, the Mole, and the Egyptian Museum before leaving for Spoleto. Based upon this brief visit, I thought the area where we had our huge dinner looked nice:

Turin, Spoleto, Bologna and Bellagio TR

Maitaitom has a longer TR iirc.

Since you are visiting Turin for tourism, the most obvious choice would be the Historic center where all tourist attractions are. In short, North of Porta Nuova railway station, south of the huge Porta Palazzo street-market.

The hotels close to the Via Roma porticoed avenue are the most central and expensive.

If you prefer an apartment, I can highly recommend this one -

Located in the center, walking distance to everything, lots of great shops and restaurants around.
