Best Area to stay in London????

We stayed at the Copthorne Tara in Kensington this past May. We thought the location was good - close to Kenisington Gardens and Hyde Park and very convenient to the tube which is so easy to get around on. It was also close enough to walk to Notting Hill one day and to Chelsea another.
And the best part was that we bid on Priceline and won it for $60 on the first try! It is certainly nothing fancy but perfectly fine for sleeping.

zeppole: My recommendation was for Priceline. I only gave the link to that flat to show and example of a moderately priced flat.
My point about LSE was that over the OP's period, the main option would be their Top Floor rooms, which cost much more than PL.
