Berlin, need to be at TXL for an early flight.
My flight departs from TXL at 9.00am I need to be at TXL at 7 am. What time do the TXL buses start? I was thinking of staying near Haupbanhof so I can use the TXL bus from/to the airport. Or, at this time of day do I need to get a cab to the airport? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

When I fly TXL to EWR (also about that time) I stayed in East Berlin and had to take U-Bahn and S-Bahn plus TXL bus - and no problems, it worked out fine. No cab needed.

You may know better, but I cannot see a reason to be at an airport of the size of TXL 2 hours prior to departure.
TXL is small and has a very peculiar architectural lay-out with pretty much each gate being equipped with its separate passport and security control. So you'll always only be in line with people from the same flight.

Still though, if you're going to the US, there are extra security to go through so even though the TXL airport is set up for easy security, I would still there 90-120 mins early. I'm an American living in Berlin so I do this often. As everyone prior has stated, you have tons of public transport options at that time...should be no problem from wherever you are in the city to get to the airport. Only problem could be if your flight is on a Sunday, when the buses don't run as often or as early. Use the website above and you'll get an accurate itinerary. It is also in English.
