Bergamo to Bellagio
Hi there!! I'm looking to travel from Bergamo to Bellagio in August. I believe the best way is to travel by train but I wouldn't imagine the train going to Bellagio. Is this the best way to go about this and do you know any details ie cost and transfers etc? Also, I will be travelling from Bellagio to Sirmione after that. Suggestions would be very welcome here also.
Many thanks
Mark.

www.trenitalia.com is what you want.
Bergamo to Milano to Varenna--boat to Bellagio.
Reverse back to Milano--train to Desenzano--taxi or boat to Sirmione
Good luck !

Mark - The easiest way is by train to Varenna (approx 70 mins) - with a change of train in Lecco.
Bergamo-Lecco takes approx 70 mins.
From Varenna walk down to the pier (5-10 mins) from where there are frequent ferries to Bellaggio. The crossing takes less than 10 mins.
Hope this helps ...

Sorry, correction: That should read
Bergamo-Lecco = 35 mins
So with a good connection, Bergamo-Varenna via Lecco normally takes about 70 mins.
(No need to go via Milan from Bergamo to Varenna, Bob - via Lecco is the quicker route).
