I am taking my teenagers to Bellagio.
Can anyone suggest a hotel that is near or on the lake that has airconditioning?

The Metropole has AC & is the only hotel in town situated directly on the lake-shore. We stayed there for a weekend in April & liked it very much - here is a link to my trip report if you are interested;

I think it is true to say, however, that most posters here prefer some of the other hotels in Bellagio i.e. the Du Lac, the Florence & the Belvedere.

The Belvedere has an outdoor pool which might appeal to your teenagers, but it is a little walk away from the lakeside, up a steep(ish) hill - great views though.

I believe that hotel rooms in Bellagio are hard to come by in season so, depending on when you are travelling, you might not want to wait too long before you get organised.

The Metropole is quite nice, and right out over the water/lake, and a wonderful location. I've heard good things about the Belvedere, though as another writer posted....up a steep hill, (but pretty views and a pool).
Being "near or at the lake doesn't mean beach or getting close to the water in that way...but it IS interesting, and the Metropole is just a few steps from where the hovercraft comes in.

Being on the lake is not always an advantage, and nowhere is ever far from the lake anyway, the metroploe is ok for a short no frills stay, but other more glam = expensive hotels would have more for teenagers, unless they are late teens and want to go off and sample what that age group do, my boys 16 & 17 did.

Hi again, we regularly stay opposite Bellagio at the GH Tremezzo, and get ferry back and forth or up and down lake.Apart from the obvious eating, drinking, promenading the lads were more than prepared and safe to go off to Bellagio or Mennagio via the ferries for a night out, or for a few hours during the day. Perhaps it is unfair as me and my wife return to the GHT probably 3 times each summer, usually on our own maybe with other adults and on occascions with the kids, but we always go with the flow and depending upon the weather never start out with too many preset ideas, to date we still have things left to see missed from our very 1st visit, such is the level of relaxation and life style, but we only have a 2 hour flight over from the UK.
