Leely, I'll bet that you do that same planned trip sooner or later, and the delayed gratification will serve you well. Fingers crossed.
I'm busy working on our old travel-audio collection these days, as well as editing our Chinese and Greek fotos, but maybe further down the road, I'll post some of our Puglian imagery from the above trip.
I am done. the dreams the hopes the wishes

Thank you Ade. Puglia some day come.
Our Greek collection wazzam (was and still is) incredibly large, so much so that over on Thorn Tree nobody believed me, they apparently thought that I was kidding.
And those fotos of China were our very-first attempt to use digital cameras, then learn the Adobe Lightroom program. They should've sold tickets to watch my clumsy disregard of cropping norms back then! As though I were on acid or something.
*this morn, listened to the '89 recording of when I was a volunteer teacher-for-a-day at the Birdsville PS in the outback. Click Go the Shears!
I am done. the dingo

Holy Mother of Rentals!! I just now answered some logistical questions for someone who'd PMed us. While doing so, I re-read this TR and noticed my significant error regarding that Rome rental in Monti. Above in post #7, I wrote that it was 'not uncheap, but we all knew that ahead of time' etc.
Clarification: it is NOT a budget lodging nor is it cheap. I must've been trying different wordings then forgot to mop up and properly edit.
Sorry for any confusions. Carry on.

I've just re-read this article and it has the perfect type of chaos that you can only find in Puglia.
During the fateful wedding experience we asked our organiser for places to eat in town. She chose 3 as being the most organised and truely local. We had already eaten in two of them which had been "un casino" that is a living confusion. Nothing bad, some nice dishes, very fresh produce but such much confusion. We worried a bit and took 10 guests, un-announced into the third. The front of house, a badly crippled young woman, was organisation itself, sure , why not just dump 12 people on her all of whom needed the menu translating. Perfect.
After two holidays in the region I now advise, relax, you are on holiday. If you wanted it like home, stay at home. You will have a great time.
