Belgium, The Netherlands & Germany in 10 days

Dear All,

Would you please recommend/rate this preliminary itinerary? This will be a first time trip for me and my friends and we will be traveling there this coming week.

Saturday 3/13
Arrive in Brussels, spend the entire day and night there.

Sunday 3/14
Spend the morning and then travel to Bruges for the evening. Stay in Bruges for the night.

Monday 3/15
Spend the day in Bruges and traveling to Amsterdam in the evening just in time for the nightlife over in the city. Stay the night in Amsterdam.

Tuesday 3/16
Take in the sites of Amsterdam. Stay the night over.

Wednesday 3/17
Any day trip suggestions close to Amsterdam or is there more to take in? Leave late in the evening to Cologne.

Thursday 3/18
Spend most of the day in Cologne and travel to Hamburg (or any other small but worthy stops before Berlin). Stay in the town/city for the night.

Friday 3/19
Spend the day taking in the sites and again, at night make the trip to Berlin possibly soon enough to catch the night life.

Saturday 3/20-Sunday 3/21
Spend two full days in Berlin

Monday 3/22
Leave early in the morning from Berlin

Thank you for your help!

Sounds like a good itinerary to me that gives you excellent opportunities to get an impression of very different cities.

From experience here some are likely to argue that you have too many stops, thus preventing you from getting an in-depth experience of the places you visit. I like yur style, though. Cover a lot of ground and when you find a place that intrigues you a lot you can always return. Enjoy that trip - I like almost all of the cities you plan to visit (not such a fan of Cologne, which to me apart from the admittedly great cathedral doesn't have that much to offer, but that's my personal view and you can form your own opinion. If it were me, I'd go straight from Amsterdam to Hamburg and add the day I saved from Cologne to Berlin.).

You have 9 days including your arrival day, visiting Brussels, Brugge, Amsterdam, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin.

Don't take a daytrip your second day in Amsterdam, just stay in the city. I don't know your interests, but there's plenty to see and do in Amsterdam. And you are leaving (by train I suppose) in the evening of the 17th anyway.
