I'm 38..both are wonderful, nothing to do with age. But, as you will be in Paris, go to Brussels or Brugge, Amsterdam is too far for a day trip , I think.

My husband and I were just in Brugge last Tuesday and I'd definitely go back. The town is beautiful and they even have a few windmills so you can get a little bit of that Netherland feel. The town has just enough for a very nice day trip. - If you go make sure you try the waffles and make a trip to the shop Dumon for the absolute best chocolate. I bought the medium box and am wishing I'd splurged on the large!

Brussels is also nice but it is a very large city and not as charming as Brugge. But we were also there in a torential rain storm...
