Been to Canton, Tx first Monday lately?

Thinking about going in October from Dallas for a day trip. Is it worth it? Great shopping, browsing, eating? Or just the same old flea market? thanks.

It's worth going, esp. if it's one of those gorgeous October days with the bright blue skies. But I swear you can't get a bargain there anymore (probably thanks to eBay). There will be some table full of puzzles with missing pieces, outdated computer components and used Tupperware, and then the guy will have one Limoge plate with a $50 price tag on it. But it's still fun to go.

Heavens,
I couldn't find your posting on the U.S. forum, so will respond here.
I was really disappointed in Canton- had heard about it for years and have friends who make the trip twice a year.In October there will be a lot of holiday(Halloween, T/giving and Christmas)crafts, items, etc. I think it is one of the largest markets of the year. We went in May, and it was really hot. The highlight was an ice cold Dublin Dr. Pepper- don't miss that treat!

If you do go, take a look at Forney- lots of antique shops and the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to.

Yeah, I admit that I find more in Forney than in Canton.
