Interesting note: In 1998 the US Naval Hospital Ship "Comfort" set sail from Baltimore on a diplomatic cruise of the Baltic. Because of the high representation of women in the military's allied health career fields, the ships complement was approx. 10% female. These ladies tell me the social life on-board was hopping on the way over. Then they hit their first liberty port: Riga, Lativa. The US female's social status instantly dropped from Queen of the Hill to Bilgewater Scum, when the sailors realized how beautiful the Latvian women were.

Final note: I was in Paris and went to a neighborhood pharmacy to get some antacids. While there, I observed several French women investing quite a bit of time asking pointed questions of the pharmacist . . yes, the pharmacist . . on how to use some skin care products he had behind his counter. They clearly take skin care very seriously, and happily, it shows.

Italian women! Even the not so attractive women dress & carry themselves well.

The most beautiful men are in Sweden and as for women, I am going to have to go with Italy. The older attractive women, though, are definitely French.

Formula 1 has a tradition of posting native women by each car on the starting grid. It is obvious that there are beautiful women everywhere.

I rather vote for the best looking men....that said, having been to almost every country in Europe (including Eastern Europe) and Scandinavia, I have to say that the French women are the best looking women in Europe.

Men, that's a difficult choice, because men do not fit my ideas of good looking like women. They need more than looks.

My best friend from college was from Croatia, and I thought she was beautiful, as was her sister-in-law. Also on my list are Italians, Spanish, Dutch, French, Finnish and Danish. This is only from either the countries I've been to, or friends who come from there. Young Italian women win hands down though, they sure do know how to dress and are stunningly beautiful. In fact, that's the only place where pretty young things have actually caused traffic jams in the middle of town, and even <b>I</b> gawked at a stunner.

I'd much rather vote for most handsome men. Italian men sure are winners, Spanish men are quite romantic, but I have a softspot for athletic blonde British men. Apparently, they fancy me too.

I'll reserve my votes until I visit the Baltic countries this summer, and be on the lookout for Swedish men. Purely for research purposes, of course.

Ignoring the orignial question about 'beauty', does anyone else think that French women are generally tiny? That is, SHORT. I spend a lot of time in France and feel that I am in the land of Munchkins, a feeling that dissipates as soon as I cross into Germany!
