Beaune - St.Tropez Lunch Stop/Break

Hello!

We will be driving from Beaune to St.Tropez mid-July with family and kids. Where would be a good area/city/reataurant to stretch our legs, and grab a good lunch. Not fancy, fussy or touristy. I am unfamiliar which route we will take as we have a private car and driver. But I am open to suggestions.

Crest or Grignan would be interesting stops close to the Autoroute.

Just ask the private driver who probably can answer this Q best?

Montélimar would suit very well, and the kids would like the small zoo along the main street of the town. Also, perhaps, the candy factory tours.

Stu - Darn, I was just on the A6 from Beaune to Lyon to Avignon. What is it about Crest, Grignan that you like?

Crest is a nice village with a castle on top. Same with Grignan - but with lots of lavender fields surrounding it.
