Beach hotels on the Amalfi Coast

Hello All-

I'm 35 and planning a trip to Italy with my best friend. We're looking to spend 3 nights on the Amalfi Coast. I'd love to find a reasonable, nice hotel (very) near or on the beach. Ideally we'll spend some time touring in the cities, and some unwinding on the water. We'll be there mid-September - any advice is welcome!

For committed swimmers, this place at the bottom of the road to Ravello, right on the water, might work.

Otherwise, in the Amalfi region, be prepared to have views of the water where you will walk to pebble beach, often via steep paths.

Hi RG - Which resort are you looking at?

If Positano, check out Hotel Pupetto (- Fornillo beach) or Hotel Buca di Bacco (- main beach)

Hope this helps ...

Hi RG,

You have 3 nights on the AC.

If you are going to visit Naples and Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano, Capri, Amalfi, Paestum you don't have time to sit on a beach.

The beaches are rocky.

Great idea! We loved the beach at Amalfi and the water temp should be terrific in September (at least I hope so because I am headed that way, too!

We stayed last spring at this hotel and walked 5 minutes to the main beach at Amalfi:

Thanks for the comments so far! I'm in the process of checking all of them out - has anyone heard anything about Hotel Giosuea a Mare? It's on Meta Beach...

The Hotel Giosuea a Mare is not on the Amalfi Coast. It's east from Sorrento. There's a beach, if that's your priority.

You should give a price range in order to get accurate recommendations for hotels.

Good ideas. We are definitely planning to tour around a lot of the towns (Amalfi coastal towns, islands, and Sorrento), but have decided we will splurge (a little) if needed - we would spend up to $300/nt for a nice place with easier beach access...

Take a look at the Belvedere in Conca dei Marini; this hotel (with pool; on the sea) is a favorite of relatives. I've seen only the exterior but it gets good reviews and should be in your price range; there is a bus stop outside the hotel:
