BBs, Kenmare, Kinsale, Greystones - Ireland

Hi all,

I have compiled a list of BBs from many comments here and the web and have tried to narrow it down a bit.

Was wondering if anyone has personal comments/experience for the following places before we leave on Jun17th:

Kenmare - Harbour View BB, Beara Way BB, Tara, Annagry, Rockcrest.

Kinsale - Foyle, Four Winds, Griffin Riverside, Tesben.

For the following, I can find very little info other than price and location.

Greystones - Butlers BB, Glandore, Thorvale, Belvedere House.
(or any other recs would be good!)

Enniskerry - Corner House BB, Oaklawn, Ferndale (or any other recs)

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, haven't stayed in any of these, but I know Wojazz3 stayed in the Harbor View - I remember his post about bumping his head. I am considering it, as well as Mylestone House in Kenmare.

Good luck!

I also remember someone posting that they got an en suite room ar Harbour View, and the bathroom was across the hall. That changed my mind about staying there.

We stayed at Rockcrest House in Kenmare last June. It was nice and a good value.
Looked farther, but it was about 5min. walk up a hill from the center of town. It stays light out pretty late in June, but for late night, a flashlight is helpful walking back up the hill after a night at the pubs.
Don't miss the stone circle... especially if you are there on the summer solstice as we were last year!

Haven't stayed at any you mentioned, but did stay at Virginia's Guesthouse in Kenmare. Perfect location at the end of the main road in town and wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were really great and they have a very good restaurant right on premises, although they also gave us good suggestions for other places in town. We would highly recommend it.

Best place to stay in Kenmare: Sallyport House. Wonderful hosts, wonderful location, wonderful rooms!

I stayed at Harbour View and liked it and did indeed bounce my head off the ceiling. My ensuite room had a bathroom ensuite.

In Kinsale I like the Cephas House. It's just outside of town in a quiet location, but an easy walk. The view of the harbor is fantastic.

Hello amyprib...Husband and I were the ones who stayed at the HarbourView last May('03), and had booked a double ensuite with a view, which was confirmed. When we arrived Maureen showed us the room she had for us, and it was the one on the main floor, with a wonderful view of the water, but the "ensuite" was across the hall. Our only other option was a double ensuite at the back of the house with a garage view. We took the former although we didn't care much for going back and forth across the hall. If you do book there, ask about the double ensuite upstairs (think that is the one Bill is talking about). I don't think we would stay there again. Would try Sallyport....Hope this helps....Helen
