Bath B&B's

Would love to hear from anyone who has had luck finding affordable accommodation in Bath. We need a triple/family room and would like to find a room for no more than 60 GBP. Thanks in advance for your input.

Having never specifically stayed in B&Bs in Bath I would say look at the tourist links on the web.

http://www.touristnetuk.com/sw/bath/index.htm

Also try www.google.co.uk and search under 'Bath accommodation'

what time of year are you looking at - this will affect the prices? Sorry - I have not got any specific recommendations but try the tourist board.

Susan, try laterooms.com. We used them to book a room at the Cranleigh in Bath in Feb. 59 pounds for a room with two double beds and a sofa and ensuite bath, with a really terrific breakfast. Its a bit of a walk into town (20min) but there is a city bus that runs right in front. Bath is a lovely city, take the free mayors tours that leave from the north side of the Abbey.

We stayed at the Dorian House in Bath and loved it. We had a family room for 4 which is in the eaves of the house. For the four of us it was 105 GBP which included breakfast. It is about a 10 minute walk into the center of the city. It is up a hill from the city but the four of us did it each day. Breakfasts were the best we had while in Great Britain and I believe it is a 5 star B&B. Very nice place and the owner is the principal cellist with the London Symphony Orchestra. They do play lovely music in the breakfast room each morning. go to www.dorianhouse.co.uk to see more details. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Find a website call Smooth-hound.co.uk and go to Bath. It will list all of the B & B's. It's a very useful site for anywhere in the UK if you want to stay somewhere other than a chain hotel.

Stayed at the Parade Park this Spring. A small hotel, really, but great family rooms (i.e. large bed in one room, with 2 singles in an adjoining room), with very reasonable prices. Good breakfasts

We stayed at the Paradise House and were very happy there. No elevator, so we schlepped what we needed for the night up to our room and left luggage in the car. (6 week trip with two kids and two adults, so we had more than a couple of carryons!) Can't remember the exact price, but it was definitely one of the more reasonably priced places we stayed. The innkeepers (New Zealanders) were extremely friendly and helpful with directions, the breakfast was great, the fellow travellers were fun, and it's a fairly short walk into the center of town. We had a third floor room with a queen bed plus two twins. Highly recommended!!
