Bath and Stratford upon Avon - B&B recommendations
I am planning a trip to England in September and would like to stay in B&Bs. As my mother might go with us, accomodations that are located close to what we will see during the day are preferrable (she is not the best walker) . After doing some research, so far I like the following:
Bath
Henry Guest House
Three Abbey Green Guest House
Stratford upon Avon
Adelphi Guest House
Ambleside Guest House
Is anyone familiar with these B&Bs?
Are there other B&Bs you could recommend? I would be grateful for your imput.

hi jerseysusan, I was in Bath in 2008 and stayed at the Bath House B&B and loved it. It was an easy walk to Jane Austen's house, I also walked to the Roman baths, the Fashion museum and the centre of Bath several times with no trouble although those places were a little bit further than Jane Austen's house from the B&B and I am a good walker. Bath is not a very big city so if you needed to take cabs it wouldn't be expensive.
The Bath House was very clean and very nicely decorated with lovely bathrooms. A full English breakfast was included which they deliver to your door in the morning. There is a table and chairs and a small mini fridge. www.thebathhouse.org
I took a cab from the train station and back again when I left and it was not expensive and a short journey, worth it to me not to be dragging my suitcase!

Three Abbey Green is probably the best located B&B in Bath. I've never stayed there but have walked past it many times. (I've never actually slept IN Bath even though I've visited 15-20 times).
Both the Adelphi and Ambleside are a little bit of a hike from the touristy bits. They are in a road w/ lots of B&Bs.
I'd either stay in a hotel in the very center or maybe at http://www.cherrytrees-stratford.co.uk/ which is right across the river by road bridge or foot ferry from the Royal Shakespeare Theatres.

raincitygirl - thanks for your response, the Bath House looks lovely
janisj - Cherry Trees looks beautiful. I am wondering if they only have king sized beds which wouldn't work out for sharing with my son. The location of Three Green Guest House does seem perfect. Thanks for your recommendations.

jerseysusan, just a suggestion re your dilemma with the king sized beds at Cherry Trees. Might be worth emailing them to ask as I have found in Britain and Europe the king beds are often twins pushed together, sometimes the photos and descriptions on the site don't tell the full story in terms of options.

Hi we have stayed at Avonlea many times when visiting Stratford, I belive they have twin rooms and the owners are lovely. It is just a short walk from town and the B&B itself if very comfy wewouldnt stay anywhere else when visiting Stratford.

Hi \
Hi UKTraveller1 - I have decided on the Henry Guest House in Bath. It's close to the bus and train station which is convenient for us as we are depending on public transportaion. We are staying in the Adelphi Guest House in Stratford. Thanks for your interest. There are so many decisions to make but of course that's one of the best parts!
