Barcelona: trying to narrow 4 hotel choices to one...

Hello,

We have narrowed our choices to these:

less expensive: Jardi and Hotel Continental

a little more expensive: Turin and Gran Via

The costs aren't hugely different, but if the experience is, that would definitely help us decide. Your thoughts are appreciated; thanks in advance!

We stayed at Gran Via. Can't beat the location. Just off Passeig de Gracia near the Gaudi apartment buildings. Entry is lovely and the breakfast room is very nice. Bathroom good but room a little stark and dark. That said, however, we'd still stay there again based primarily on location.

We stayed at the Hotel Continental and although it's a good value and has a good location and would have been fine when I was travelling as a student, we wouldn't stay there again. It was a bit too "weathered" and rooms too small for us. (But they do have a great dog!)

I loved my stay at the Hotel Continental a few years ago - but you need to be sure to get a balcony room. The hotel is right on Las Ramblas, and it was so fun to sit out on the sunny balcony after a busy day of sightseeing, watching the hustle and bustle down below. It is a homey, friendly hotel.
