Barcelona restaurants

My husband and I will be in Barcelona for 3 nights and will be staying in the area called L'eixample. Any suggestions for good restaurants, but not too pricey? We've heard about Els Quatre Gats but need 2 more. Maybe something near Ramblas.

I think you must mean the quinze nits (http://www.bcninternet.com/restauran...?contentid=791) in placa reial very good but no reservations and a queue every night but quite fast moving, get there by 8.00 to be in first in the queue it WILL be worth it. also next door is the taxidermy which is also good but a bit more expensive. The owner of quinze nits also owns the fonda which is good and is located at Carrer Escudellers 10 (http://community.iexplore.com/planni...amp;n=La+Fonda) all 3 are worth a look at

If you search under "missypie barcelona", you will find my trip report that describes the restaurants we liked.

We also stayed in the L'eixample. We enjoyed BaBaReeBa quite a lot.

Go to Cal Pep and joine the queue for tapas. Be sure to wait for a seat at the granite bar instead of a seating in the dining area in the rear. At the bar is where all the action is! Very, very, good tapas

There is a restaurant Quatre Gats. It's a sort of old-fashioned place serving traditional regional food. They have live music and is an enjoyable place.
A reasonably priced and good place to eat in l'Eixample is Cerverseria Catalana. Near the gothic quarter is Taller de Tapas which is also good and not too expensive.
One of our favorite things in Barcelona is the La Boqueria market--one of the world's great food markets. A highlight is having breakfast or a snack in the market at Pinotxo.

Our favorite restaurants in Barcelona were:
Cerverseria Catalana (Calle Mallorca, 236) in the L’Eixample
La Rita on Carrer Arago, 279 just off Passieg de Gracia
Cal Pep

For more expensive but incredible meals we loved Cinc Sentits and Commerc24.

Tapas 24 is in the Eixample and is run by the same people as Commerc24. Much lower prices and wonderful tapas. Cal Pep is the best--get there by 8:15-8:30 and your wait will not be too long. We also loved Boss Born around the corner from Cal Pep.

Check out the recommendations in Maribel's guide at www.maribelsguides.com.

I really liked Cerveseria Catalana, mentioned above, and Cinc Sentits for a very special meal.

Really liked the paella and grilled fish at Set Portes.

Also liked Els Quatre Gats.

In Barceloneta, I liked Suquet de l’Almirall, at Passeig Joan de Borbo 65.
