Natasha- looking for thermal baths? Go to the Vichy spa in Caldes de Malavella. Very nice and relaxing!

I drove to Cadaqués the other day and it took us just under 2 hours.

SShprints- why is it important that it is near the French border?

Natasha: I will follow what laclaire suggested, and stay in BCN while doing day trips to other parts...I have read that Tossa de Mar is the nicest place on Costa Brava (apart from Cadaque) but not that far.

Ok - Thanks for your suggestions and reading other posts
Almost everything is booked

Arrive in Paris on Sept 5th
Stay at Hotel de Reuilly
That night have a boatcruise on the Seine and the Illumations, go for dinner
Sept 6th - Day in Paris - Hop On & OFF
Arrive in BCN Sept 8
Still trying to commit to a place in Costa Brava - thinking Llafrance, Calella or Tamariu
Than staying the remainder of the time at Hotel Bertan

Sarria is a little "middle of nowhere" in terms of bcn city centre.
It's quite a nice family residential area but its literally on the ouskirts of the city.
Have a look on http://www.way2stay.com for a good city area guide, which also has Barcelona apartments.
I agree with laclaire on barceloneta, also el borne or gotico.
Plaza Catalunya is the centre (as you can see on the maplink).

Hello

we stayed in Barcelona in August in a wonderful apartment in the historical center. We got a recommendation of our friends that stayed twice with Cocoonbarcelona an agency that rents apartments in Barcelona. We wrote an email to them and got a quick reply concerning our request. We decided to stay in the city center as it is a good starting point. Cocoon Barcelona has a lot of nice apartments in the city center so we selected a charming one that“s called Gotic Suite. It had a balcony and a splendid interieur. Moreover I liked the way to stay in an apartment because you live like a local or resident in the heart of Barcelona and have all commodities of an apartment (fully equipped kitchen, spacy rooms). I really recommend the agency, they are friendly and helpful. Have a look on their website www.cocoonbarcelona.com

I wish you luck to find a nice apartment.

Saludos Sira

Dear SSHprints:
Hi!
This is a completely different subject, but I wanted to catch
you on your most recent posting
to ask you which limo service you
ended up booking for your parents
trip to Rome in July.

Did you find
a reputable company to drive them from
Rome to the Amalfi Coast and then back
to Rome? Could you share this info..
I do apologize for jumping in here, but
wanted to get your feedback and thought
the other post heading was outdated and you may not look back upon it...Thanks again

raileurope.com

this should have rome to naples train..and than you catch a local train to Sorrento..I dont have info on the local train, but my parents found to be rather simple. Then you can just get the bus to any of the towns, its really simple.
When I was there, I rented a car..the scenary is magnificent.

My sister and I are opening a hostel in Barcelona. Check out our website for recommendations.

www.somniohostels.com

Unfortunately we won't be open until 2008, but we'll happily recommend places to stay/things to do if you get in touch.
