Barcelona Query
We are planning to go to Barcelona, Spain in February 2010. Is it a good time to go there? Please suggest good places to see in just two days. We will be landing at Ghirona Airport which I think is far away from Barcelona. Advice on transport from Ghirona Airport to Barcelona & back and on public transport within Barcelona is solicited.

I went to Barcelona in Feb 2008; and just came back from Barcelona 2 weeks ago. Feb is a good time with nice cool weather (much warmer than Boston in Feb), though it's fairly crowded with tourists. Are you flying Ryanair? There is a bus that takes you to Barcelona from Girona (note spelling) airport: http://www.sagales.com/index.php?sec...&nIdioma=LANG3
With 2 days, I would:
Day 1 - start EARLY at Sagrada Familia (will take at least 2 hours to visit), then walk over to Passeig de Gracia to visit Casa Mila, Casa Battlo and other Modernisme sights. If possible, go for a concert at night at Palau de la Musica Catalana
Day 2 - Spend morning in Barri Gotic, walk around the waterfront; then afternoon head up to Montjuic and perhaps visit Miro Foundation.

I forgot to answer you Q about transport. Since you mentioned "we" I assume you have 2 or more people traveling together.
Your best option will probably be the T-10 ticket, which costs €7,70 and valid for 10 rides. It can be SHARED by more than 1 person, so the 2 of you can use the T-10 ticket and each and ride 5 times. That's probably more than enough for 2 days.

Girona to Barcelona - a transport question. Posted by: annhig on Oct 14, 08 at 06:06 AM
The above was a recent discussion on transport from Girona airport to Bareclona.
I wouldn't miss the Boqueria Market http://www.boqueria.info/ on the Ramblas.
