Barcelona or Madrid?

I am planning on a three-day weekend in Spain in December and can't decide between Barcelona or Madrid. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Barcelona is a uniquely beautiful and interesting city. Madrid has the Prado. No contest IMO.

Lona,

Barcelona is perfect for a long weekend.
Madrid is better left for a time when you can see the surrounding towns.

Aileen

Hi Lona:

Usually everyone chooses Barcelona, but I am partial to Madrid having been to both. Madrid has the Prado, the Plaza Mayor and the top bullfights if you are into that sort of thing. I enjoy walking Madrid much more than Barcelona. However, Barcelona is much more hip and Madrid is more reserved.

Spanky
