Barcelona in July
We've booked a private apartment, with pool, for two weeks at the beginning of July in Vilanova I La Geltru, and hope to travel in to Barcelona on several days. Every time I mention this to people, they say how hot it will be - any advice? (Actually, we went to Venice in July last year, and had the same comments - but enjoyed every minute, even though we arrived at during a tremendous heatwave!) Is Barcelona likely to be worse at that time? Thanks.

I'm sure it will be roasting but I personally don't mind - I love visiting Europe in the heat. Everyone always looks so good and it's so great to be able to sit outside for dinner! At least you have a pool (v important in my books) and I assume you have A/C!

Last time we visited it was the middle of August and Barcelona was its hot and usual humid self but no more so than what we're used to and we wore shorts and were comfortable. I agree about enjoying LATE evening meals outside in Spain as it begins to cool a bit (although earlier on that same trip we were in Madrid and it was 98 degrees at midnight!!!!)..kinda magical. I'm sure you'll enjoy it all..wish I were going to be there, too
