Barcelona Hotels

We are looking for a centrally located hotel for two days before heading to costa brava. due to family obligations we don't have more time in Barcelona unfortunately.

We have 3 children, one is 4 years old. We would like a place that is close to the main sights and tourist buses so the little ones don't have to walk too far.

Any fun kid ideas in barcelona or Costa Brava (Begur area) as well?

The hotel Gran Via is very centrally located-two blocks from the Plaza Catalunya which is a transportation hub. The rooms in the back on the upper floors are quiet and large enough to accomodate the extra beds you need for the kids. Breakfast is OK but expensive and there are lots of cafes around. Don't know what they charge for extra beds. Web site is www.nnhotels.es.

wherenext (great screen name, btw)

Do a search for "Costa Brava" and "Begur" there have been some postings in the past few months.

Beautiful part of the world -- have fun.

"Fun kid ideas" in Barcelona..yes, the IMAX theatre and the aquarium and the cable car ride as well as the constantly "passing show" to include the living statues, bird sellers, etc. on Las Ramblas as well as in front of the gothic cathedral.

Thanks for the info. All the kids stuff sounds good. Where is the cable car?

We do not mind two rooms, the hotels suggested are booked, any other ideas? Apt. for two nights doesn't work.
