Wine & Bike tour around Siena??

Hello!
I am trying to find a bike tour my husband and I can take while we are staying in Siena. I have seen a bunch starting in Florence but we will already be doing wine tours the week before out of florence so was hoping to do the brunello region while in Siena. Has anyone done one? Either from Siena or even if we drive to Montapulciano (sp?) and start from there? Thanks for your help, I have tried searching on the forum and have had no luck.

I've ridden around the hills and valleys and there are American tours buzzing through much of the time. Montepulciano is on a fair number of the organised routes so you have probably started your searh in the right place. I've also seen them in Pienza so maybe look at tourist information web sites for the two cities.

Alternatively it is not so difficult to hire a bike and do your own thing

I've used these guys years ago and the have a good press in the UK http://www.headwater.com/php/by-coun...taly&month=all

Brunello is made in vineyards around the town of Montalcino.

There is an historical rivalry between Montalcino and Montepulciano that dates back to the wars between Siena and Florence in the 1400s.

I found a brief discussion here http://preview.tinyurl.com/cj2epqk but you might be able to organise cycle rental from Pienza

The Siena website has some, but the tourist office in Siena will have a lot more options.
