Bad Wimpen outdoor museum vs. Iphofen Monchsondheim
Has anyone been to either of these outdoor museums? I think they both depict what life was like in Bavaria a couple of hundred years ago. It has been difficult for me to find English info, so I am wondering if anyone has first-hand experience visiting. Do you know if they provide the same type of experience? Thanks.

Bad Wimpfen is not in Bavaria but in the state of Baden Wuerttemberg (don't want you to get lost!). Be that as it may, it is a nice town; the ramparts are overlooking the Neckar valley and the Burgenstrasse (castle route). Have not been to the museum.

I've never heard of Bad Wimpen (if you Google that you will find links to several sites that have misspelled Bad Wimpfen). If it is Bad Wimpfen you are referring to - I can find no mention of an Outdoor Museum there (altho there are several museums mentioned). I've visited Bad Wimpfen several times and if there was an Open-air museum there I would think I would have probably found it by now (but maybe not). Perhaps you are thinking about the Open-air Museum located in Bad Windsheim which is about 24 km northeast of Rothenburg o.d.T (and is in Bavaria). I visited that one a few years ago with my daughter and we both enjoyed it very much. Have also visited Iphofen but not the museum at Mönchsondheim. Based on a look at it's website - I think it might be worth a visit. Which one if I had to choose? Why not take a look at both? They are not so far apart that you couldn't fit them in to a half-day or so.
Here are several more Outdoor Museums in case you are near one of these - http://www.bensbauernhof.com/openairmuseums.html
