Oh Marilyn, is that you in my elevator dreams? They are NEVER going to get to the right floor. Then you're in the basement somewhere and can't find your way out. And there is no door in to the place you want. And then it's a library and the books are piled way too high, oh no, it's a museum now, but it's about to close. Wait a minute, I'm on my way to my college dorm but it never looked like this.
Oh yeah, and I have a math test this morning but I forgot I was taking the class and I never opened the book.
And the streets keep winding away from the way I want and I can't get on the right bus and I have to walk miles out of my way and I can't find that great restaurant I wanted to try.
But enough about me.

I invariably begin having travel-anxiety dreams about a month in advance of a flight. Usually the scenario is that I wake up and realize I have 2 hours to get to the airport and I haven't done any packing. Sometimes, though, I arrive at the airport and realize I left my luggage at home. It doesn't make for good pre-trip sleeping!

Nikki, LOL, my college dorm appears in those hotel dreams -- how did you know? I lived my freshman year in a dorm connected to another dorm on all but 2 floors. I lived on a floor that didn't connect, so you had to go either up or down a flight of stairs to get through. Maybe that's where this all started...

My favorite Doonesbury strip of all time had Zonker (when he lived with Joanie Caucus) waking up screaming from a nightmare. Joanie comes into the room and asks, "What's wrong?"
"Oh, Ms. Caucus - I had the most terrible dream," he says. "I dreamt that I was trapped in the Newark bus station discussing civil rights with Mark Spitz."
"Oh you poor dear," she responds.
