backpacking around europe

HI. I am keen to travel round Europe. I have just moved to Edinburgh from New Zealand. I am new to travelling and don't know much about it. I was wondering if someone could please tell me how much money I will need to do this. looking at between 1-3 months. please specify in pounds please.

No one could possibly tell you the amount you will need since you haven't said anything about your trip such as what country(ies) you want to visit, how much you eat, what type of accommodations, what type of transportation.

The best thing you can do is get some guide books and read them for some background on traveling.

You should be able to convert whatever currency you're given into pounds. You will definitely need to know how to do something like this before you travel.

A quick guess is 150USD per day.

I would start out by sketching out a rough itinerary, researching transport and accommodation costs (think about options such as hostels, couchsurfing, carpooling websites, price comparison websites etc.) and any other fixed-cost items you know you will need e.g. museum entries, metro passes etc., stick them on a spreadsheet and then once you have those fixed costs think about how much extra you want for spending money. I would budget around 30-50€ day excluding those fixed costs. But as has been said, it's a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question.
