B&B's in Killarney
I probably will get blasted for posting this, but I honestly tried searching and had a hard time coming up with anything!
Because of cirumstances I will not get into, we need to find and pay for our own accomodations in Killarney where the wedding we are attending is taking place. I am not sure where to start . . . there seem to be so many b&b's. I have an Ireland B&B book from Town & Country, but there are SO MANY!
Could anyone give me a list of suggestions? Just when I thought we would not have to worry about Killarney, we do. We will be there for three nights (Wed-Fri).
The wedding is at the Hotel Dunloe Castle, BTW.
TIA!

Dunloe Castle Hotel is not near Killarney town and is set in its own rather secluded estate. I doubt if there is a B&B in walking distance. You could e-mail them to see what they would recommend in the area. If you cannot get a close by B&B take a taxi to and from the wedding (strict drink driving laws). You have to decide if you want to be near the hotel, town or do not mind a few miles drive to Killarney. Once you decide on a place to stay make your reservations right away. Killarney in July will be chock-a-block and a wedding will only add to the no vacancies.

I like the looks of Carriglea . . . emailed them about availability today. I was considering the Applecroft as well.
sss,
Is the Carriglea a good choice in terms of area? The website says it is right across from the entrance to the national park. The idea of a taxi makes sense . . . I am sure it will be a night complete with a pint or two!
I don't mind staying a little bit away from the wedding venue or town. I think that everyone is looking for their own accomodations at present. It is too complicated to coordinate with my friends.
Thanks for all the reponses!

Carriglea is a couple of miles from Killarney on the main road to Kenmare. In July it is a busy road but the B&B is set back from the road and not right on it. Maybe a room in the back?
Applecroft is tucked away in a quiet residential area within walking distance of town.
If you want to be in the center of things I can recommend Fairview Guesthouse. It is very nice and right in town. They run specials if you book on the Internet or for multiple night stays.
