I recommend that you use google to find the websites of the b&bs that interest you and deal with the owners directly. Also see if you can find user reviews of people who stayed there on venere.com and tripadvisor.
I have no experience with that website, but if you deal with the owner's directly, you will find out how well they speak your language and how prompt they are with replies, and you will have a direct confirmation from them if you decide to book there.

Hi there,
I work for BedandBreakfastworld.com and came across this question - just thought I'd let you know a little more about us. We provide an online booking service for B&Bs and guesthouses around the world. Availability is uploaded directly by the property owner and bookings are instant and confirmed.
If you're thinking about booking accommodation in Rome, can I direct you to our feature listing our top 5 B&Bs in Rome: http://www.bedandbreakfastworld.com/...-breakfasts/34
Thanks for your interest.

I'm a B&B owner in Canada and I would recommend you use multiple sources when searching for any lodging. There is no way we can afford to join all of the B&B sites out there so if you rely just on one, you may be missing some gems.
And zeppole's suggestion to contact the owners directly is very good. This avoids the possibility of the B&B being double-booked through various sites and you may be able to receive a better cash rate as booking & credit cards fees are eliminated.
Also "Top 5/10/etc." ratings on any site can be very deceptive - either they're paid listings or owners can get friends to submit 5-star ratings to bump them up the list. Since B&Bs get far fewer ratings than hotels, this can easily skew the results.
