B&B question in Clonakilty

We are trying to decide between two B&B's in CLonakilty in Feb. We have been contacted by both and they are both open, each 30 euro a piece.

One is the Hillcrest the other The Melrose. Does anyone have any ideas about either?

Good or bad, let me know!

Thanks

Debra

I'm afraid I haven't stayed at either place, but if proximity to town is important to you, I'd go with Melrose. It's within easy walking distance of downtown Clonakilty.

I have a friend who lives in Clonakilty. I'll send her an e-mail to see if she has any info . . . . .

I heard back from my friend. naturally, she hasn't stayed at either place since she lives ther, but does know both of them.

"Hillcrest is on the eastern side of the town about a mile outside it and up a hill and would have stunning views over the bay and the town.

Melrose is also about a mile outside the town but on the western side and wouldn't have the views.

Although slightly off the beaten track both are well sign-posted and I think either would be fine"

hope this helps
