B&B in Normandy?

I have seen several posts on the topic of B&B's in Normany recommend the Chateau de Cottun. I went to the Chateau de Cottun website to check it out for a possible stay in Feb/March 2005. But the website is rather blank and says they are closed for the season. But wouldn't they keep their website up? Maybe it has actually closed for good?

Instead, the Chateau de Cottun website recommends another B&B called
Clos de Belle Fontaine in Bayeux. Is anyone familiar with this place?

Try the site vrbo.com. These are privately owned B&B"s, apts. etc. Just go to France, then select Normandie, etc. We used this site last year and stayed at the Le Manoir Herouville in Bayeux. Excellent B&B's. Tracy & Curt

The owners of Cottun closed their site because they will not begin accepting reservations for April (when they open) until early January. They may also not reopen becuase they are considering starting a real estate agency.

Check out the gites-de-france and logis-de-france sites.

We stayed in a B&B near Villers Bocage, not far from Bayeux, and loved it. It was on the gites-de-france site.

I don't know if it's the same place, but we've stayed at the Château de la Bellefontaine in Bayeux and loved it. It's an airy old mansion house set in a park-like setting just barely outside town (you can walk in in about 7 minutes). The rooms were spacious and light, the grounds were lovely, and it was blissfully quiet at night. It does not have a restaurant or a pool, but does have tennis courts. I highly recommend it.
